Trump’s ‘Patriot Passport’ Now Available Nationwide

The U.S. State Department is making its limited-edition “Patriot Passport”,which features President Donald Trump’s portrait available nationwide after claiming “overwhelming demand” for the document.

Initially, the commemorative passport was only available in person at the Washington Passport Agency. Now, an additional 250,000 copies are being distributed across 27 passport agencies and special application events across the country.

What Makes the “Patriot Passport” Different?

Created to mark the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States, the passport introduces several custom design changes:

  • Living President Featured: The inside cover displays an official portrait of President Trump alongside his signature and the text of the Declaration of Independence, making him the first sitting president to appear inside a U.S. passport.
  • Historical Imagery: The back inside cover includes artwork depicting the Founding Fathers signing the Declaration of Independence.
  • Exterior Cover Tweaks: The outer cover flips the standard text order placing “United States of America” across the top and “Passport” at the bottom, with a gold “Freedom 250” flag logo stamped on the back cover.

How to Get One (And Who It’s For)

Applying for the Patriot Passport is completely optional. Standard U.S. passports remain the default for routine mail-in renewals, online applications, and standard post office appointments.

To get the commemorative edition, applicants must schedule a specific in-person appointment at a participating passport agency or a designated regional 250th-anniversary application event. While the State Department highlights high public interest as the driver for expanding the program, the nationwide rollout gives interested travelers across the country a chance to secure the limited run.
